Paddle For Earth Raises Money for Eco4theWorld Foundation and CARE Foundation through BuyButtonz.com
Twelve adventurous paddlers canoe to the equator from Singapore as donations pour in electronically
Twelve adventurous canoeists embarked on a 400km expedition to paddle to the Equator from the Oneº15 Marina on July 21st 2007, Saturday. Calling their expedition ‘Paddle For Earth’, the dozen canoeists set out to cover about 60km a day to raise funds for two foundations. As they paddled towards their objective, donations continue to pour in through a web-coordinated donation drive. Visitors to the expedition’s website at www.paddleforearth.com were able to donate through credit-cards and Internet Banking.
Besides being able to track the progress of the expedition through a custom mash-up of Google Maps on the website, visitors were able to easily donate to the cause by using the BuyButtonz payment service.

With just a click of a BuyButtonz in a website, blog, wiki or email a buyer can verify the transaction through their mobile phone, and then make a credit card or bank-to-bank eNETS payment.
In addition, buyers who prefer to pay for purchases with their bank accounts instead of credit cards, where previously they could not, can now do so. This opens up markets for merchants as most Asians do not have credit cards.
BuyButtonz can be used in websites, blogs, forums and emails, and be employed by businesses of all sizes, scopes and types.
There is no waiting period for approval and the BuyButtonz can be generated and installed into websites within minutes. Sellers/Merchants just need to have a bank account with a participating bank in the eNETS network.
Steps for participation in the BuyButtonz program for online merchants:
(a) Register at www.buybuttonz.com with bank account data
(b) Upon submission of registration, receive an activation code on mobile phone
(c) Log out, then log in again and enter the activation code for the first-time login only
(d) Go to the BuyButtonz section to purchase a BuyButtonz for each product or service
(e) Configure the product or service and pricing to generate the HTML code for each BuyButtonz
(f) Copy and paste the HTML code into the web page where the BuyButtonz is to appear, and upload page
(g) The BuyButtonz is immediately active and usable
Steps for making an online purchase with BuyButtonz:
(a) Click on the BuyButtonz for the item or items being purchased
(b) At the eNETS payment gateway page, checkout or continue shopping
(c) Upon checkout, enter mobile phone number of buyer and accept Terms & Conditions
(d) A Security PIN message will be sent to the buyer’s mobile phone
(e) Enter Security PIN and fill in the buyer’s particulars and payment method data
(f) Submit the data to deduct the purchase amount from the buyer’s credit card or bank account
Until 31st December 2007, each new BuyButtonz subscriber will receive one free BuyButtonz valid for 3 months.
To mark the introduction of BuyButtonz, a series of fairs featuring BuyButtonz vendor subscribers is being organized by The Pacific West Communications in shopping malls around the city. Fair participants will receive an extra set of free BuyButtonz to feature in their websites.
The first BuyButtonz fair was held on 6th May 2007 at Far East Plaza and was well received by the public.
